Erik Thomas, Vice President of Economic Empowerment and Military & Veterans Services

Erik is a Cincinnati native who graduated from Mt. Healthy High School and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati with a focus on Marketing. Erik’s first experience serving the community came while attending UC where he held the positions of chapter President and regional pre-college initiative chairperson for the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). It was through NSBE, where Erik began giving back to others as a tutor as well as coordinating events for regional high school students.

Professionally, Erik has been working in the non-profit arena for over 15 years. His past roles and experience include serving as a College Access Specialist on the GearUp grant, Group Facilitator for the Leadership Scholars Program, and most recently, VP of Community Services at the Cincinnati | Hamilton County Community Action Agency.

Erik’s passion for underrepresented youth and families has attached him to this work, and he is driven by seeing others grow to become the best versions of themselves.

Outside of work, Erik is a proud “Girl Dad” of three beautiful young ladies who keep him and his wife busy. He is a huge football fan and loves to watch the Wolverines on Saturday’s and the Bengals on Sunday’s.
