Cincinnati, OH – Easterseals Redwood recently received $40,000 from the Charles H. Dater Foundation to support people facing economic disadvantages who are seeking careers in the construction industry. Easterseals Redwood is incredibly grateful for the foundation’s continued support of youth and adults working toward sustainable careers in this fast-growing industry.

The Charles H. Dater Foundation was founded 1985 to support community programs that enrich the lives of children. It was started by Charles H. Dater, a philanthropic man with strong ties to Greater Cincinnati. The mission of the Dater Foundation is to make grants to non-profit organizations in the Greater Cincinnati area to carry out projects that benefit children in the areas of arts/culture, education, healthcare, social services and other community needs. According to their website, when making grants, Foundation directors ask, “How many children will feel the impact our grant, and how deep will the impact be?”

Easterseals Redwood’s Construction Pathway supports at-risk youth and adults in attaining not only their GED or high school diploma, but credentialed training, practical experience and placement and apprenticeship opportunities in the construction trade – one of the most “in-demand” industries locally.
