U.S. Acting Secretary of Labor Jule A. Su recognized Easterseals Redwood as one of the 859 recipients of the 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion Award during a virtual award ceremony presented by the U.S. Department of Labor. “Easterseals Redwood applied for the HIRE Vets Act Medallion because it shines a light on the work we – and so many other worthy organizations – are doing in the community to help our veterans find meaningful paths to employment and keeping them as a vital part of the workforce,” said Easterseals Redwood’s President and CEO, Pam Green. “We’re honored to be recognized with the HIRE Vets Medallion Award, and we understand the dedication and sacrifices our veterans have made for our nation. Through our Military & Veteran Services, we strive to ensure those veterans have the resources and support they need to thrive in a civilian career and in civilian life.”
Easterseals Redwood is one of more than 800 companies nationwide that have proven a commitment to hiring veterans and ensuring they have long-term careers that use the diverse skills they honed while in the service.
Recipients of the 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including veteran hiring and retention percentages; availability of veteran-specific resources; leadership programming for veterans; dedicated human resource efforts; pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans. More than 1,600 employers have earned a HIRE Vets Medallion Award since 2018.
