Easterseals Redwood, in partnership with the KATS Network, hosted the Assistive Technology Expo at Northern Kentucky University on Oct. 9. Attendees can connect with leaders in the field, test the latest equipment, and learn about resources available from vendors such as BoltzStrong, Reliable Medical, many more, to support individuals with disabilities and enhance independence and quality of life.

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month, making it the perfect time to talk about assistive technology and how it empowers people with disabilities to succeed in the workforce and in life.

More than 31% of the global population uses assistive technology devices like wheelchairs, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, vision and hearing technologies, adapted equipment for recreation and leisure, and more. This number is only expected to rise, according to the World Health Organization, indicating a growing demand for assistive technologies to improve daily life and independence for aging populations and people with disabilities. Easterseals Redwood is working to improve access to this technology for everyone in our community.
