Workshop – Creating a Recovery Mindset at Work
Friday, August 25, 9 a.m. to 2:30 pm
Pine Croft at Crosley Estate
2366 Kipling Avenue
Cincinnati, OH 45239
More than 100 community and business leaders gathered to discuss the impact of addiction and mental health issues like depression and anxiety on the workplace. These issues, if left unaddressed, result in costly losses in the workplace.
But a cultural shift by many organizations, including many in our region, is yielding increased productivity, improved performance, and greater job satisfaction. By providing their employees a safe, confidential, and immediate source of support at work, Recovery-Friendly Workplaces are seeing reduced turnover and absenteeism, and improved productivity.
This free workshop showed company leaders, human resource directors, and EAP managers at mid-sized and large companies how to change their mindsets and implement programs, including employing Peer Mentors, to face the challenge head on.
The workshop was let by facilitators from Minneapolis-based The Brave New Outpost, who left attendees feeling inspired, energized, and knowing that becoming a Recovery-Friendly Workplace is right for them. This program was presented by Easterseals Redwood and Hamilton County Public Health’s Recovery Friendly Hamilton County program.
